This statue is on Inari, the fox god of rice and the harvest. This one is near the main Kiyomizudera complex in Kyoto. Rice is a very important crop in Japan so Inari is a very important deity. Inari statues are everywhere in Japan. I even found one in the middle of a rough trail in the middle of a forest on a mountain on Miyajima.

I took this picture of a heron while in Japan. In the area I live, there are a great number of these beautiful bird that visit our local estuary. You normally see only the males since they are bright white to attract the dull grey females. My record number of sightings of these birds is 12, with at least 8 in the estuary, on my way to school one day.
Today is LW’s twitter marathon, as you all know; so that got me thinking. What is the white whale in the twitterverse supposed to be, and how is it possible that it can be carried by just a few birds and a net?
Apparently, the whale is the image that twitter gives, when the site is down, or under going maintence. Twitter is doomed if it relies on a few birds to hold the whale that is the site up. Unless those birds are on steroids. Hmm.
That’s my first question of the day. Here are my other two.
Why is carrying an assault rifle without a permit legal in Arizona?
Is it possible that Ponyo was a girl, who turned into a fish by visiting the Cursed Springs? (Was it only Sky that got the second reference?)
And one more for good measure … Does Kanye West think he is a teddy bear?
Anyways, post your three questions of the day on twitter, or post them in the comment box down here. Support the site by adding #lightwp, to the end of your tweets. It is really appreciated. Also, feel free to leave a comment, if you have the answers to these questions.
