If you are a fan of popular YouTube videos, you’ve all heard of the big viral video makers (Fred, nigahiga, NeilCicieriga, smosh and the like). But this week I’m bringing you three of my favourite lesser known YouTube YouTubers (YouTube is a noun AND a verb). In no particular order, here they are, accompanied with my favourite video by them.

Shimmycocopuffsss

Asian Parents

Shimmy isn’t too unknown (120k followers isn’t too shabby, if you ask me), but he’s not one of the biggest video makers out there. His videos (mostly nigahiga style rants, lists, and the like) are really funny, and a good change from the story type videos (like smosh’s videos). His videos are actually a lot like nigahiga’s rants, interlaced with small snippets of story with multiple characters acted by the same person. His rants are different enough from nigahiga’s that I don’t get bored watching his after I’ve watched nigahiga’s.

Thewinekone

Facebook Pokes From Guys

TWK’s a lot like shimmycocopuffsss, with videos about quite random things (including how wrong it is for guys on Facebook to poke each other, and how Facebook should add a fist bump button), stuff that comes in threes, and Dim Sum. But sometimes you just need a random dosage of random. Sure, he may not be as funny as someone like Anthony and Ian (of smosh), but still worth a watch when you’re extremely bored and have nothing better to do. He also has an extremely cool bookshelf shaped like a Gameboy Colour that appears in the background of most of his videos.

FlippyCat

How to Solve A Rubiks Cube… Dominos Style

FlippyCat isn’t the usual type of YouTube channel, instead it shows different domino creations made by the owner of the channel. It’s really cool to watch them being knocked over, and it’s amazing how some of them are so intricately put together. I could spend just hours watching his creations being created and recreated; some of them are just so cool.

I hope you enjoy my three favourite underrated YouTubers, and maybe found a few new videos you enjoy!

  1. How the frak do you do any article about YouTube content without using embed videos?

  2. The only youtube I regularly watch is Riese, YGO Abridged, and a totally legal upload of QI.

I’m glad for links instead of embeddedness. Lots of videos on a page makes my computer take forever t load it.

  3. Seriously, a sample of the work would make sense. Bioware doesn’t just announce a game and then nothing is mentioned until it is on the shelf. There are always demos and art and trailers. You don’t recommend something to someone without proving they will like it. A paragraph doesn’t define a video. There is an obvious failing to utilize resources that is becoming an endemic pattern on Wednesdays.
