Springfields vie for ‘Simpsons’ premiere.
Fox to choose among like-named towns from Oregon to Massachusetts.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Springfield, the Oregon one, is on a list of like-named towns competing for the big-screen debut of Homer, Bart and the rest of the TV Simpson family this summer.

City officials accepted an invitation from 20th Century Fox to compete for the honor of hosting the premiere of “The Simpsons Movie” in July.

Fox publicist Gwyne Ortiz said Fox has asked 16 Springfields from Oregon to Massachusetts to participate.

Fox will pick the winner after reviewing short film entries showcasing the community’s positive aspects and links to the Simpsons, who live in their own fictional Springfield.

DTR: MARCH BREAK! (March.9th!)

Ah, yes. It’s ever so close to March Break – and tommorow’s the last day of school before the break – it’s gonna be great! Anyways, I put up a new : Finding Nemo themed layout, hope you like it and COMMENT!. Now, this is gonna be a short post : but before we go we have some sad news to report tonight.

At least 21 killed in Indonesia plane crash.
115 survive; ‘crazy’ landing speed noted; call for transport minister’s ouster.

YOGYAKARTA, Indonesia – A packed jetliner crash-landed and erupted in flames Wednesday, killing at least 21 people trapped inside the burning wreckage. More than 115 others escaped through emergency exits as black smoke billowed behind them, officials and witnesses said.

Survivors said the Boeing 737-400 operated by the national carrier, Garuda, shook violently as it approached Yogyakarta airport too fast in clear weather. It shot off the runway, bouncing three times before plowing through a fence and coming to a halt in a rice field.

“Suddenly there was smoke inside the fuselage; it hit the runway and then it landed in a rice field,” local Islamic leader Dien Syamsudin told El-Shinta radio station. “I saw a foreigner. His clothes were on fire and I jumped from the emergency exit. Thank God I survived.”

An Italian survivor said the plane appeared to be going too fast as it approached the runway.

“The plane landed at a crazy speed. It was going into a dive and I was certain we would crash on the ground,” Alessandro Bertellotti, a journalist with Italian broadcaster Rai, told the ANSA news agency. “I was sitting behind the wing. … I saw that the pilot was trying to stop it, but it was too fast. It literally bounced on the strip.”

Working on: Multiple Projects =/
Dates to remember: MARCH 9th – March Break!

Let’s start:. Whee. It’s gonna get busy. I have so much to do and accomplish : it can give you an headache. But sticking to the topic, this week as I was working on my project : I discovered the simplicity of Microsoft Office Word 12. Some of you must be thinking : it’s Microsoft? How can it be simple? Well, quite frankly : it is. The new Word, comes with so many better features, and easier controls : so it’s easier to get a 90 on your assignment. That way we’re all happy. (:

Numero Deux:. That’s Number 2, in French. Anywhoo, is this site a blog? Quite frankly, I don’t think it is. We at LW have always said it is a randomness site, so thus it is not a blog.. Though we do ramble and rave here, though isn’t that part of a randomness site? I don’t know, though I’ve just noticed I’ve used ‘though’ 4 times now! And now the :mangry: (the star called in sick today), informs me that it is time for the news.

Rat scandal brings more Taco Bell closures.
More inspections ordered in the wake of New York city rodent infestation.

NEW YORK – The parent company of KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut said it had temporarily closed several New York City restaurants owned by the franchisee that operated a Manhattan eatery overrun last week by rats.

In a statement issued late Wednesday, Yum Brands Inc. said the restaurants would remain closed until they underwent new inspections by the city’s health department.

“We will not compromise on our food and restaurant quality,” said Emil Brolick, a Yum Brands executive.

The company’s actions were aimed at the ADF Companies, a Fairfield, N.J.-based group that owns more than 350 fast food restaurants in several states. It is among the nation’s largest operators of Pizza Huts.

#3 FIN: FIN=END in French. There you learned many things in this post. You learned French, you learn that Taco Bell has rats (yuck!), you learned that the Star called in sick, and you learned that Microsoft Word 12 rocks. And now you learn that the :patriots: rock. That’s the end. Peace.

DANCE.. I cannot dance for my life, and yet we have to do it at school. You can tell how annoying that is. :annoyed2:. Anyways, I don’t really want to talk about ‘dancing’. :P

I still haven’t changed my Mario emoticons, and I’m planning to let them stay a bit longer. If you have concerns about this please post a comment. If you don’t : please post a comment. Currently, no further updates to report (wow, I sound like a millitary person :P ). But, some sad news to report.

For want of a dentist.

Maryland boy, 12, dies after bacteria from tooth spread to his brain.

WASHINGTON – Twelve-year-old Deamonte Driver died of a toothache Sunday.

A routine, $80 tooth extraction might have saved him.

If his mother had been insured.
